Charles “Chad” Black is a native of Alabama, who grew up in and around the Birmingham area. Chad graduated from Vestavia Hills High School where he lettered in several sports and earned a football scholarship to the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While attending UAB, Chad majored in Political Science, and he earned his Bachelor’s degree in 2000. After college, Chad attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida, where he graduated in the top twenty-five percent of his class, and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2005. Upon graduation, Chad moved back to Alabama where he sat for the bar examination and was subsequently licensed to practice law.
Chad has spent the bulk of his legal profession practicing in the area of criminal law; however, in 2008, he spent a year as a judicial clerk for a Circuit Court Judge in Madison County, Alabama, where he acquired a thorough insight into the numerous legal issues that arise before the jurisdiction of a Circuit Court. When the term of his judicial clerkship expired, Chad remained in Huntsville, and he joined the Morgan Law Firm in 2010.
